Some companies subcontract your job to an unrelated truck and crew on the day. Ask directly whether the movers arriving are employed by the company you booked.

A fixed quote should be confirmed by message or email after a survey, not just quoted verbally over the phone. This is your reference if the final bill doesn't match.
Check insurance, not just promises
Ask what's covered and up to what value — "we're insured" isn't a specific enough answer if something valuable is damaged.
